Dan Looney, Adam Paulden & Jason Haigh-Ellery for DLAP Entertainment
DLAP Entertainment specialises in the Production, Management and Financing of commercial entertainment across the globe. Created by producers Dan Looney and Adam Paulden, DLAP currently produce and manage multiple musicals and plays predominantly across the UK, Europe, the US and in various other international territories.
DLAP is producing the first ever stage musical of the Sony/ScreenGems movie, Burlesque, which will premiere at the Paper Mill Playhouse in New Jersey in 2020 - marking the tenth anniversary of the movie release - before transferring to Broadway in 2021. DLAP is also producing the world premiere play adaptation of The Last King of Scotland, based on the award-winning novel by Giles Foden and subsequent Oscar-winning film starring Forest Whittaker and James McAvoy. This premieres at the Sheffield Crucible Theatre in September 2019 prior to West End, Broadway and international productions. Further upcoming productions include the Kander and Ebb musical whodunnit, Curtains, starring top UK comedian, Jason Manford, which tours the UK from September 2019, a tour of the classic farcical play, Boeing-Boeing, also touring the UK from September 2019 and a West End production of the musical, Bonnie & Clyde from June 2019. DLAP also are also developing a modern musical adaptation of Sherlock Holmes, which will premiere in China in 2020.
DLAP have a host of productions currently running including the smash hit musical Rock of Ages, the 30th Anniversary Tour of Fame! And a revival of Stephen Sondheim’s masterpiece, Company at the Gielgud Theatre in the West End. DLAP previously toured the musical, The Wedding Singer across the UK.
Dan Looney (Executive Producer) is a Producer, Actor and Composer. He most recently appeared as ‘Elder Poptarts’ in the West End production of the Tony Award-winning musical The Book of Mormon. His previous producing credits include Bouncers, Spring Awakening, The Wedding Singer, Anything Goes and One Night of Impro. His composing credits include The Confession Room (St James Theatre, West End); Judy – The Righteous (Trafalgar Studios, West End); Swear Our Love (London) and the score to feature film Opening Night of the Living Dead. Dan has also won multiple awards as one half of the radio show The Dan and Sam Show.
Adam Paulden (Executive Producer) was the General Manager for Kenny Wax Ltd for seven years, overseeing the multi-Oliver Award-winning productions of Top Hat and The Play That Goes Wrong, amongst others. Adam is also the Executive Producer of the digital motion picture company, Neapolitan Pictures. His previous producing credits include Phoenix Rising, The Donkey Show, Fresher, BEAR, Streets, I Am a Camera, Wild West End and The Songs of My Life. His General Manager credits include Fat Friends the Musical (UK Tour); Not Dead Enough (UK Tour); The Comedy About A Bank Robbery (West End); Dear Lupin (West End); Top Hat (UK Tour; West End); The Play That Goes Wrong (West End); Peter Pan Goes Wrong (West End); Carrie’s War (UK Tour); Wonderful Town (UK Tour) and a host of family shows including The Gruffalo.
Jason Haigh-Ellery founded Big Finish Productions in 1998 and the company has grown to be the largest independent producer of Audio Drama in the world, working regularly with media corporations such as the BBC, MGM and ABC on Doctor Who, Torchwood, Stargate, Dark Shadows and on original series such as Graceless and The Confessions of Dorian Grey. Big Finish won the BBC Audio Drama Award for Best Drama for Doctor Who in both 2014 and 2017. Jason also founded the animation house Planet 55 Studios in Australia working on two animated versions of Doctor Who and producing the original 26-part drama Prisoner Zero for ABC and Netflix. Jason has also produced and been involved with a host of reality shows including Nadia Goes to Hollywood, Nadia: Chasing the Dream, Strictly Dance Fever and Fame – The Musical. In 2017, Jason was Executive Producer on the movie The Time of their Lives which subsequently reached #1 comedy on Amazon. Jason’s previous producing credits include Henry V, Spring Awakening, By Jeeves, Love Shack, High Society, The Steamie, The Wedding Singer, Fame – The Musical, Yes Prime Minister, The Ladykillers, Flashdance, Never Forget, Rock of Ages, Wasted, Footloose, Wolfboy, A Christmas Carol and The Whatsonstage Theatregoer Awards.
